For some reason our room phone is ringing and it’s only 5.00. I answer and there is some music on the background. I hang up and try to sleep again but no way… at 5.30 is set Sina’s alarm. We get up at 6.00 to prepare our luggage and then quick breakfast. At 7.00 the taxi driver is waiting for us to go to the airport. We do the check out and it takes 40 minutes to get to the airport. Luckily no traffic. They check the luggages of the passengers before to get into the airport so there is a long queue of people waiting outside the airport. Then we go directly to the check in and then to the passport check before we go to the gate. We stop buying some postcards, one moment of distraction and the seller doesn’t give us any change back. Then we board on the plane. The flight takes 2 hours.

On the plane they give us the immigration card to fill before to be admitted to Singapore. There is a big red message that would attract the attention of anybody: ‘Warning Death for drug traffickers under Singapore law’. In Singapore the crime drugs related can be punished with the capital death and this is valid also for the foreigners.

We are flying and there is a turbolence. Sina is totally scared and she promises she would have never taken a plane anymore in her life. No problem. Maybe I will leave her in Singapore
Meanwhile from the plane we can see a rainbow just below us.
We are in Singapore and we are starting to feel the stress of the trip. We are hungry and tired. Another passport check and then to get the luggage that arrives quite quickly. We passed the custom and… welcome to Singapore! The first impression is of a quite country. Everything is in order. No mess. No confusion. We take a taxi to go to Sentosa, the island where our hotel is located. The driver is very friendly. He knows everything about the city and can give us information about museum, attractions, restaurant and everything we need. It takes 25 minutes to go to the hotel for a reasonable price of 35 SGD (17 Euros). The hotel is located just in front of the symbol of Singapore: the Merlion!

The hotel seems to be nice. We arrived at 14.00 but the check in time is at 15.00 so we have to wait 1 hour. We decide to try the restaurant of the hotel. Good food. Good prices. We get finally the keys of our room that is unbelievably small. There are also constructions under work out of our windows, so there is a terrible noise. We try to have a nap but nothing to do. At 17.30 we start getting ready for the night. Once we are done we take the Metro called MRT that connect Sentosa (the island where we are’ to the main land. The train is brand new. We arrive to the station Harbour Front where there is the big shopping mall Vivo City. Shoes and purses are definetly cheap. We are impressed by the order of the city. Everything is new and clean. No trush, no people smoking. Everything is built with the newest technology.

We would like to see to main street of Singapore Orchard Road but we don’t have enough time cause it’s already evening so we go to China Town. This area is full of chinese restaurants and shops with seller so prepared to give discounts…

We are attracted by a T-shirt that explains why the city is so perfect.
In Singapore there are some rules:
- no smoking
- no chewing gum
- no littering
- no urinating
- no flower picking
- no bird feeding
- no water wasting
- no spitting
- must flushing
Who is caught breaking these rules has to pay fine of 1000 SGD (500 Euros).
We decide to have a chinese dinner: good food, great icecream, price 41,5 SGD (20 Euros) for 2 people.
Then we take the MRT to go back to the hotel where we arrive around 23.
Tomorrow time to buy the tickets for the bus that will bring us to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia in 2 days.
